Defending a point of view persuasively

- I see what you are getting at, but...

- I appreciate the point of view you have expressed about..., but...

- I recognize that this..., but...

- I acknowledge that you are right on ..., but ...

- You expressed a very interesting opinion about ..., but...

- I should admit that..., but...

- ...but I don’t consider it to be relevant...

- ...but I tend to disagree with...

- However, I have to express my doubts about...

- ...that’s not how I see it.

- ... that’s out of question.

- ...one should not lose sight of the fact that...

- I see what you are getting at, but I don’t consider it to be relevant in this case.

- I appreciate the point of view you have expressed about children learning new words while watching TV, but I tend to disagree with you.

- I recognize that the harmful effect of the TV is overrated. However, I have to express my doubts about the positive effects of watching it all day.

- I acknowledge that you are right on saying that there are programs meant for teaching children but going as far as believing that children will sit quietly to watch them is out of the question.

- You expressed a very interesting opinion about parents control, but that’s not how I see it.

- I should admit that TV could be useful when children watch channels like Discovery, but one should not lose sight of the fact that TV can worsen your eyesight when you watch it for too long.

Y, ahora, a practicar.
